Very sad news, Rich Cassens passed away last Saturday.
I have worked with Rich since in 1978. I consider Rich a friend.
Over the past few years when Rich stopped by the office we often sat and chatted. He always amazed me (and everyone that knew him) how he could remember details of projects from decades ago. Rich treated others with respect and always listened to what someone had to say, no matter how wrong they might be. We talked often about the old group of guys that have all passed, I think he felt left behind, but he never seemed down. In fact I can’t recall ever seeing Rich depressed or mad which is truly remarkable in this business. I have always had great regard for his engineering knowledge and common sense. I have dealt with very few that could measure up to Rich’s level in the Civil Engineering Profession.
We will all miss him. I will miss our chats.
Doug is leaving CCS Consultants, Inc. after twenty two years of exemplary service. Doug started with us in May 1995 and has worked hard along side Noel and the CCS staff to build a honest and reliable land surveying firm.
